INDIAN GAMERS IN ASIAN GAMES 2022 VIA BGMI

Indian players will be able to qualify for the official esports programme of the Asian Games in 2022 through Battlegrounds Mobile India, according to Krafton (BGMI).
This would provide Indian gamers with the option to compete for medals at the tournament. The games will take place from September 10 to September 25, 2022, and athletes from all around Asia will compete for medals.
"BGMI's addition in the esports games portfolio underlines Krafton's commitment to the global and Indian development of the esports ecosystem."
"With the opening of its Indian office, Krafton has been investing extensively in the growth of India's gaming, esports, and IT entertainment industries," the firm stated in a statement.
"This year, the business invested a total of $70 million in the Indian IT industry, including the leading Indian esports startup Nodwin Gaming, the game streaming network Loco, and India's No.1 digital novel platform Pratilipi," the statement continued.
Every four years, the Asian Games are a multi-sport tournament in which Asia's greatest athletes participate. The International Olympic Committee recognises the event as the second-largest of its type, after only the Olympics.
In 2018, the Asian Games cleared the door for esports representation by including it as a demonstration sport. Esports will be part of the official programme and a medal event in 2020 and 2022.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 was just announced by Krafton. This will be Krafton's inaugural esports event, following the overwhelming positive response to Battlegrounds Mobile India's formal debut on July 2.
